Torsten Schäfer (Darmstadt)

Torsten Schäfer is professor for journalism at Darmstadt's University of Applied Science. He teaches writing and investigation as well as storytelling and has a special focus on environmental journalism and climate communication. In his research project climate stories, Schäfer currently examines how journalists in four different countries believe that climate change could be better told as a story in contrast to just report the topic with facts and news pieces. He works as a nature writer as well as environmental journalists for national newspapers such as FAZ. Within GNAP, Schäfer will be with the group as an associated writer on the shore of the Rhine river. The text will be published on the GNAP website and also in a poetic book about water that he's currently working on.
